Government Game On the Name of Green Projects

319 trees were removed from the site of the under-construction signal free Islamabad Expressway. According to one report, at least 4000 trees have been cut down within a period of one year in the wake of development projects in Islamabad. Almost 18000 trees are expected to be cut down due to construction of Orange line in Karachi. Last year, a severe heat wave with temperatures as high as 49 °C (120 °F) struck southern Pakistan in June 2015. It caused the deaths of about 2,000 people from dehydration and heat stroke, mostly in Sindh province and its capital city, Karachi, where nearly 1360 people died in different hospitals of metropolitan city. The heat wave also claimed the lives of zoo animals and countless agricultural livestock. This heat wave is also expected in this year.
Is this way to build cities? Is this way to facilitate people on the name of Metro, Orange Line, Green Line, etc.? Is this only solution to cut down trees? The concerned authorities are requested to adopt alternative ways and for God sake, don’t play with lives of people on the name of “The Green Projects”.
