Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ response
The response to Anurag Kashyap’s “Gangs of Wasseyput” had an overwhelming response. The show first hit the multiplexes in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkand with full houses and further drawing more attention to crowds. The show opened up to about 80-85 percent of tenancy. Owner of Puka Talkies in Delhi said, “‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ has opened very well with 80 to 85 percent occupancy. Some of the shows were even houseful. The film is going great and even the advance booking is going on full swing.”
It is written by Zeisham Quadri, who is known for the bloody rivalry between gangster Faheem Khan and businessman Sabir Alam over morsel business. The film is described to be so powerful that it has hurled audiences straight into the tarnished lawlessness of the North Indian small-town where the cask of the gun speaks an overpowering language of pandemonium by a commentator.
However the critics have described that it is a bit gross inclusive of blood and violence which has never been so explicit in any Hindi movie ever but despite this fact, the cinemas attract many people who are waiting to come across such related movies.
Anurag Kashyap was the co-producer alongside Sunil Bohra and said that this the most expensive film in his career. It was also reported that he spent 15 crores on the actors pay.
