Five dead, 25 hurt in Punjab road accidents
CHUNIAN/OKARA/SHEIKHUPURA: At least five persons including a woman were killed and more than two dozen others injured in separate road accidents here on Tuesday.
Rescue sources said that the first accident took place at Changa Manga Road in Chunian area where an over speeding tractor trolley and passenger coaster collided head-on resulting in death of two people on the spot and leaving 10 others wounded.
In Soubaram Town of Okara an over speeding passenger bus knocked down a motorcycle resultantly both motorcycle riders died instantly and bus driver managed to escape from the scene.
A woman died while 15 others were injured when a passenger bus collided with trailer at motorway near Khanqah Dogran, district Sheikhupura.
The bodies and injured were shifted to different hospitals of concerned areas where according to hospital sources condition of several wounded people was serious and the death toll was feared to rise further.
The police after registering separate cases in all incidents at respective police stations have started the investigation.
Landi Kotal road accident
At least 10 people were injured in head-on collision between two passenger vehicles in Landi Kotal on Tuesday.
Security sources said that an over speeding passenger van and coach collided near Zairein check post in tehsil Landi Kotal of Khyber Agency leaving 10 people injured.
The injured were shifted to Agency’s Headquarter Hospital where according to sources condition of some wounded passengers was serious.
