Flood Forecasting Division Flags Rising Indus Flows

Flood Forecasting Division

LAHORE: The Flood Forecasting Division has warned of a rise in flows in the Indus, putting river monitoring teams across Punjab on alert as the monsoon season continues.

The warning comes as a fresh rain spell moves across the province and as provincial disaster management authorities keep watch on catchment inflows.

Residents of low-lying and riverine settlements have been advised to stay alert to official advisories, and relevant departments have been asked to keep rescue and evacuation arrangements on standby.

Updated discharge figures are expected in the division’s next bulletin.
